The Story of RAGMSA
Jacob Martin Taurins was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1989. His parents ,Martin and Diana Taurins both wanted to help find a cure for this particular disease.
They were inspired by Rotary’s achievements in the Polio Plus Program. They were aware that Rotary’s involvement in polio would be coming to an end soon. They wanted Rotary to become involve in a search for MS cure afterwards. So they made MS Awareness a club project for the Rotary Club of Gisbourne, District 9800. They attended Rotary International Conventions all over the world to tell anyone who would listen about their dream.
Eventually, their dream became RAGMSA (Rotarian Action Group for Multiple Sclerosis Awareness).
